| 120700 | 2003-02-12 21:37:00 | hi all - regarding the RAM check that a system does upon booting up. my system seems to have stopped performing this check, or only does it occasionally. instead of quickly displaying a line regarding checking the ram, then flashing the result (ie "262xxxKB" OK or whatever), it often doesnt seem to complete the check, and just continues to startup without the result being displayed. my knowledge of these hardware sort of issues is pretty basic, so i dont know whether this is something to worry about or not. the system in general doesnt seem to be working as well as it used to, so im curious as to whether this is the cause. if anyone could clear this up for me, i would greatly appreciate it! |

| 120701 | 2003-02-12 21:40:00 | the only time i see that hppening is when you reboot/restart. i doubt its anything to worry about. | tweak'e (174) | ||
| 120702 | 2003-02-13 01:25:00 | It may have been set to do a "Fast POST", which misses out the memory "test for presence". (That's all it is; it's not a "test test".) | Graham L (2) | ||
