120630 2003-02-12 11:32:00 What OS and have you loaded Zonealarm lately. The last part of your message makes me think that it has nothing to do with Zonealarm so I would recommend getting Ad-Aware off the net to test for rogue software. mikebartnz (21)
120631 2003-02-12 20:11:00 I don'y know how this might have started but using TweakUI, a Microsoft "fiddle around on your computer" tool you can change it back to stop doing by unchecking "Logon automatically" under the Logon tab.

You can download and install TweakUI from http://www.annoyances.org

120632 2003-02-12 20:14:00 If you are using Internet Explorer, go into Properties & go to the Connections tab.

Set it to Never Dial a Connection - forcing you to manually dial only or under the Settings option go to Properties on you dial up connection and chose not to automatically dial up (somewhere in there).

Another way is to cancel the dail up and Unticl Connect automatically.

Kazaa is known to automatically want you to dial into the internet.

that logon is for 'microsoft networking logon'. it has nothing to do with internet connection.

either find whats causeing it to auto dail or turn off the auto dail. i prefer to manaully dail anyway :)

120634 2003-02-12 21:10:00 All due respects Tweak'e, that was my experience. I was trying to get rid of the windows logon box on a friend's comp and tried tweakUI and on the LOGON tab it had a bit 'logon automatically at startup' and I thought that might get rid of the box but it connected to the Net instead.

Just in my humble experience.
