121243 2003-02-14 09:40:00 Is anyone going to follow this? Does anyone have any interest in it? Care to place your thoughts on who will take it out and why?

Team NZ to go 5-0 again and whup Alinghi's collective behinds. Why? Just because ;)

121244 2003-02-14 09:42:00 Ah... ask me tomorrow night! Should be interesting. Heather P (163)
121245 2003-02-14 09:46:00 I think we'll have a clear idea of who has dominance once the first leg is finished... listened on Radio Sport today (hey, it's got a good breakfast show!!) and apparently when we first won it, Pete Montgomery had made his mind up within the first 10 minutes!

121246 2003-02-14 09:55:00 I was hoping that there was going to be some nice tight match racing. A bit of a shame that the boats are sooooooo different. It seems to point to the teams are relying on the weather to help. Alinghi has gone for the light airs and Team NZ's design seems to point to slightly higher breezes.

So are we going to see the same as last time where NZ refuse to race below 9knots?

Whats the wind like tomorrow?

121247 2003-02-14 09:55:00 But then there was that Denis Conner race a few years back. I was doing some contract work in a lawyer's office. Due to lack of space I was sharing the lunch room with the books and the TV set. I was keeping a vague eye on it. Every so often someone would poke their head around the door and I'd say Denis is losing big time. Then the change came in the last leg. Gripping stuff! Work ceased and the whole office was glued to the box. Heather P (163)
121248 2003-02-14 09:57:00 Hey at last, a decent OT question

Team NZ to retain the cup. Hard to say by what margin though.

Looks like it'll be a good day to sit in front of the "other" box ;)

121251 2003-02-14 10:09:00 Yes. Somewhat damp and windy. Perfect for indoor pursuits like watching yachting.

Incidentally, forecast was from Metservice (www.metservice.co.nz)

121252 2003-02-14 10:12:00 Team NZ 5 to 0. Good winds predicted for tomorrow but light and variable for the rest of the week which could make it a lottery if they race. In good wind, Team NZ all the way. Team NZ never has a slow boat, and Tom Shnackenburgh and Clay Oliver are genius's. Danger (287)
