| 121274 | 2003-02-15 10:06:00 | Press conference discussed various issues... what I picked up from the conference was... 1. They have never trained with the extra man, or the umpire onboard... so there's another 2 ppl there. 2. They've never trained with spectator boats around creating extra chop in the water. 3. While they've trained in weather up to the windspeed of today, they've never pushed the boats as hard as today. All in all, simple things which for 3 years worth of preparation, you'd think they'd have covered. Lo. |

| 121277 | 2003-02-28 02:39:00 | Please Honeylaser, we don't want to talk about it. Anyone for a nice quiet game of tiddlywinks instead? Can we turn Auckland into the tiddlywinks capital of the world? |

Or about the mast snapping? Or about the failure of the hula? > Anyone for a nice quiet game of tiddlywinks instead? > Can we turn Auckland into the tiddlywinks capital of > the world? Now thats a game I don't mind sponsoring. Even better would be Twister. *Welcome to Auckland - The TWISTER® Capital of The World!* |

By the look of it they were in the process of pixilating masts, boats and rather expensive cameras - rather painful to watch. The wind and rain that was battering the house whilst the race was on made me wonder what they were doing out there 30km away. The weather certainly isn't pleasant in Auckland today. Does 1,000 bring exclusive membership rights? Is it time to change to my alter-ego? |
