| 121475 | 2003-02-15 07:16:00 | Recently whenever I try and go to MS update, Windows update or any MS webpage with an asp extension, a new window opens with Windows media player and the process stops. I deleted any association within media player (of course there wasn't an asp one) but that didn't change so I deleted it. But then a message came-up saying it couldn't find Windows media and would try and find another media player which it does and then states that I have to download some more software. Surely *.asp is not a media file? Using IE6, W98SE |

| 121477 | 2003-02-17 13:45:00 | 1. try right click desktop > new > text file > type name "test.asp" 2. Right click the file while holding shift and choose open with 3. select Internet Explorer, always open with this program and click ok If this still fails perhaps try repairing or reinstalling MS Internet Explorer as it may reassociate. Failing this type another msg here and maybe someone else or myself can make more suggestions |
