I recently brought a Pinnacle PCTV Rave. I installed the card in the 2nd PCI slot, and soon after my HDD died. The suppliers of the HDD replaced the HDD and this new drive soon failed. The capture card was removed to use in a friends PC, and entire PC and failed HDD was taken for testing by the HDD suplier. The PC came back with no probs and a new HDD. The system ran fine for the last few months without the capture card and gave no problem. Then last night i decided to put the capture card back in, immediatly the system failed to boot windows giving the same signs of a HDD failure. I quickly removed the capture card and now the system seems to be fine. What I would like to know is the capture falty? or could it be somthing else causing the HDD's to fail. I was thinking maybe its something to do with that particular PCI slot. Has anyone had similar problems?
