Also posted this problem with microsoft newsgroups and got a reply much as your first note about wkcakrem.exe — about putting a shortcut into the startup section of the start menu. Prior, I had made a shortcut on the desktop of wkcalrem.exe, but double clicking it did nothing. Draged the desktop icon to the startup folder of the start menu rebooted and voila — it worked The clue was your mentioning of the wkcalrem.exe file that set the subsequent work to a successful conclusion.
