121465 2003-02-15 04:44:00 I am about to become treasurer for a society with 400-500 members, and we wish to computerize our accounting system, to include subscription billing, and payments (no GST). I would like it to be compatible with MS Office (Access, Excel) and with MS Works.

Any Suggestions?

121466 2003-02-15 05:10:00 MYOB. Advantages - integrates with Office, commonly used, available locally. Disadvantage - double ledger system.

Clubmate. Advantage - specifically designed for clubs. Disadvantages - reports restricted, last version I evaluated was not Y2k compliant but may have been addressed.

121467 2003-02-15 05:41:00 First, a bit more info please.

- do you need to manage creditors as well as debtors?
- do you have a number of "sub-clubs" (eg pool, snooker, squash) that all need to be recorded separately?
- what kind of reporting do you need?

121468 2003-02-16 20:41:00 There is no need for any provision for "sub-clubs".

As for reports, I can't be sure, but mainly monthly to executive, and annual for audit and annual meeting, also annual budget required.

Obviously creditors need to be managed, although these are as I understand submitted to exec meeting monthly for approval then paid. There are probably relatively few of these, and I anticipate that member subscriptions will be much greater in number.

121469 2003-02-17 01:16:00 I suggest you contact Craig Ellis [craig@clubmanager.co.nz] and ask what they have available to suit your needs. rodb (1561)
121470 2003-02-17 09:33:00 Check out Acclaim (it is showin as an ad on the side of this page now). It does the invoicing and cashbook. A registered version ($180) gives extra reporting, but is not the easiest bit to drive. I'm not sure how well it works with other apps, but is a good program. wotz (335)
