Can anyone please tell me more clearly as i was not able to find the config menu....etc....and what are my e-mail accounts....I thought it was "CLEAR".
olldaddy76 (2539)
121834 2003-02-17 03:04:00 You need to go Tools > Accounts > Properties button > Advanced Tab. You will then see the slider you can adjust.

Your email account(s) will be with whoever provides your internet service. Under Accounts you will see something like pop.myisp.co.nz. The "myisp" will actually have the name of your ISP provider.

Post back again if this is still not clear.

121835 2003-02-17 04:32:00 Thanks Jen C I have now changed the "time out" to 5 minutes and will let you know after I have had no trouble sending e-mail again...
What does the time out mean in reletion to sending the e-mail....?
olldaddy76 (2539)
121836 2003-02-17 08:10:00 Changing the "time out" to five minutes did not help but I am gradually getting used to WEB MAIL...It is rather tedious and very slow but is the only way I can get back to Panda.....and my friemds......
Would any of you advise if doing a REPAIR JOB on EXPLORER or would any one know whether mine is an Server or Program Problem?
Am I the only one who has had a PAVPROXY prob............

121837 2003-02-17 09:52:00 Hello,

The information on the net for 'pavproxy' looks rather limited.

I did locate the following which should perhaps be digested, for it may be applicable: www.symantec.com.au

Now I am not sure if you have a updated virus scanner.... but for testing sake could you try: www.housecall.antivirus.com
Which is a free online virus scanner which may help test for this.

I cannot guarantee this will be the case but from the limited results on searching for 'pavproxy' most seem to pertain to a virus infection.

Additionally I would like to recommend for the sake of support with hardware and software having common utilities, while not necessarily perfect as perfection may not be acheivable may offer enhanced support in that there is a bigger user base to work from.

Let me know how you get on with this or alternatively please report the error message in full

121839 2003-02-17 10:44:00 I am very suspicious as on my computer I have 2 PAVPROXY files related to pav sig files and I THINK but have no idea they were downloaded when installing Panda anti virus namely
Pavproxy C:\Windows\applog 6kb LGC file 6/10/02
Pavproxy C:\program files\pandsoftware 105kb 20/02/02 but why the different dates?

I see that you use Windows 98. You will find references to Pavproxy in the C:\Windows\applog 6kb LGC file because this is a file that contains logs of your applications (programs). More information here (www.experts-exchange.com).

You have tried adjusting the server time-outs with no improvement, but if you turn off your Panda software, can you send and receive emails? If not, you email account settings for POP and SMTP might be wrong. It wouldn't hurt to check the details under Tools > Accounts > Properties > Servers against the details provided from your ISP.
