122112 2003-02-17 21:37:00 I recently completed transferring my Win 98 SE and other items from an old system to a newer/faster box.
As part of the settling in and housekeeping I ran a variety of tools including a visit to pcpitstop.
Since the housekeeping, the system runs like a fire engine but..
when I run Start/Shutdown/Shutdown, I get the same response as when I run Start/Shutdown/Restart.
I have to deprive the machine of power to actually shutown.
Any help appreciated.

122113 2003-02-17 21:54:00 Your best to refer to the Microsoft KB in regards to this. But also if you got the windows update site, you will find a patch that should fix the problem. It results from your system being too fast for the hard disk.
The patch will slow down your shut down so that the hard disk has time.
