Here's where I'm looking...please let me know if I'm at the right place. Device Mngr/CD-Rom/Atapi-CD-Rom Drive 52Max/Properties/General..Settings..Driver. The same goes for HP-CD Writer+8200a mikep...Did the scanreg/fix. On my machine the cd command entered at the c:\ prompt produced "Invalid Directory" but scanreg/fix ran OK straight from c:\ Different machine I guess. I also tried your suggestion about doing an image and by the time the image was successfully sent to the hard drive from the CD I was getting excited. Then as soon as the process to burn the image to a CD started everything stopped and a couple of attempts brought forth the following.... Recording Phase Errors Reported by Output Device Check for faulty or disconnected cables between your computer and your CD writer I/O error On another try...Command Error Invalid field in CDB Thanks to both for your patience...Ken |

| 122009 | 2003-02-24 03:50:00 | Hi, Just one other thing......check your docs for the cdr to see if there is a DMA jumper block, my Aopen has a jumper on the back of the drive that defaults to NO DMA, once removed UDMA then works.... Cheers, Mal |
