| 122602 | 2003-02-20 08:03:00 | Hello people I need help please. Since a catastrophic computer smoke up which involved buying a new HDD and every thing except the case I now have the following problem. On outlook express when I get an e-mail with attachment OE says I cant have it. Just under the toolbar on the e-mail it has the following blurb: OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail pirtek race car 23.01 jpg as an example. I. also wont let me receive excel files. I have W98SE oe6 28 I have installed a new version of NAV but have selected e-mail scanning off but to no avail. Thanks for your time. tedheath |

| 122604 | 2003-02-20 08:07:00 | Tedheath, Within Outlook Express click on TOOLS | OPTIONS | SECURITY Under Security there is a radio button for "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that potentially could be a virus" Take the checkmark (click the radio button) from this option and OK your way back out. Cheers, Babe. |

| 122605 | 2003-02-20 08:10:00 | Go Tools > Options > Security Tab & uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" and all your attachments will be available. | Stumped Badly (348) | ||

If MS had put some simple instructions with the message it would have been a big help to the millions of people that have had to seek advice as to why they could not view attachments in OE 6 but I suppose it would be too much to expect MS to do something simple and logical. |
