122582 2003-02-20 05:48:00 Has anyone had any experience with KTC Monitors? Are they any good? I'm looking at buying a KTC 19" Flat screen CRT.

Any comments are appreciated.

Do a search on www.pricespy.co.nz & look for a Philips, Sony, Viewsonic or other well known brand name.
The KTC, KTX, Proview type monitor are budget price for a reason, they are budget monitors with a budget output.
You will be looking at it for a few years to come so do your eyes a favour, spend another few $ and buy a reasonable one.
If you are near a larger store, go in & have look at several different brands and the difference in picture will be quite obvious.

122584 2003-02-21 03:41:00 NO! DONT! STOP!

Before you go near, stop! This is a really "crappy" one for most people who aren't in luck (99.9%). I asked about them at a shop, they said a huge amount of monitors (KTC) go back to him in time fore the warranty (only 1 years for most) and the rest suffer..... after the warranty has expired. Do not go near!

As far as I know, AOC is quite a good brand with some very very good prices. Plus, it has 3year on-site warranty!

Good luck,

122585 2003-02-21 09:55:00 My friend has an AOC, and he cant get the images straight on the sides of the screen. He told me not to bother with them - that was going to be my first choice. joefish (3209)
122586 2003-02-21 10:10:00 I have an AOC 19" flat and i think its great! On the sides of the monitor issue. I have mine so straight i cant notice (unless i use a ruler) although they are slightly miss shaped its not noticeable though :) im runing mine at 1152 x 864 @ 100 hertz. Its very clear and very bright which is what really counts. I cant stand the Philips ones i have to use at school 14" 800 x 600 60 hertz and we cant get into the display propities :(. Im definitly happy with my purchace and at the price its even beter.
BTW you need the latest drivers from windows update or AOC to run it at 100 hertz on WINXP not sure about other oses :) hope this helps.

122588 2007-07-03 21:54:00 AOC is a pretty average brand too. I'd take the Phillips over an AOC any day.

From the prices listed on Pricespy you can get a 19" LCD for the same price as the CRT and it will give you a bigger viewing area and higher resolution.
