Sounds like a bit more than need be to me.
Some were advertised in Trade and Exchange for $208 last week (and Yes they were new 80Gb Hard Drive Seagate Barracuda ATA V 7200rpm).
Just pays to shop around.

122535 2003-02-20 03:19:00 ATA100 is just as good as ATA133, the performance gain you would make is low single figures if that.
Your best going for the lower price. Some newish motherboards don't even bother supporting ata133 it's so miniscule

122536 2003-02-20 18:33:00 I had a Matrox ATA 133. It was no faster and it only lastes 6 months. I now have an ATA 100 Barracuda and it is definately faster than the Matrox ever was.

122538 2003-02-20 19:07:00 jjjj's coments are purely subjective and based upon his experience.

Infact we have had more reports on this board of faulty baracudda's than any other drive.

I don't necessarily think that one of them is better than the other.
They are also equal in speed.

122539 2003-02-20 19:18:00 Of course ROOFUS is correct. I am just reporting my personal experience
Jack.
