122454 2003-02-19 19:21:00 I recently attempted to install the latest via chipset drivers on my win98se system. Upon running the install I received a registry error message and then I should restart my system.

After restarting I now no longer have my DVD rom drive, cd burner or portable zip drives available.

Some help with this would be very much appreciated.

122455 2003-02-19 19:53:00 I would recommend running Scan disk then defrag and rerunning the installation. mikebartnz (21)

122459 2003-02-20 22:15:00 The VIA drivers are for a motherboard with a VIA chipset. Your motherboard (P3BF) has an intel chipset (440BX). Download and install the latest "Intelinf update" from the Intel website and apply it. That should fix it. I gotta say I find it surprising its even running at all. John Grieve (367)

Not sure where I got the idea I had a via chipset, I should know by now to check things out myself. Took your advice John and all is well. Thanks a lot for your help.
