I've had this idea for a few days about ChatF1 using a java application to interface with the database, instead of a streaming or refreshing page. Not sure if it's really up your alley, or what you want to do, but it would solve some peoples problems wouldn't it? Anyway, I know that you should be able to do it with Symantec's Visual Cafe for Java Database Development Edition, though I don't know if they still make it - I've got a copy, and on the box it rambles on about things like "produce powerful database applications instantly", "native support for Informix, Sybase, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server", "get open database connectivity", and "code is generated automatically and can be altered for more complex scenarios". Dunno about all that, but if it's possible... |

| 123016 | 2003-02-22 07:35:00 | Takes own topic off topic Useless Fact: in my part of Remmers, there are cable TV boxes all up and down the streets, back when ?Telecom? or some other company wanted to try it, except they found they'd done something wrong with the cables or something, and they were crushed or something. So it's useless. Might find some interesting wires if you smashed open those boxes though. Dunno. |
