122941 2003-02-21 20:27:00 Think I might just go have a look at the second-hand one. Perhaps I can get a really god one. Theres 150 to choose from too...! All at the same price and specifications! ~~~~~ s y ~~~~~ (2054)
122942 2003-02-21 22:02:00 Go for the Dell. I've been using one of those machines for almost five years now and have never had a problem.
It is more than fast enough to run business applications like word and even handles Photoshop and CAD.

As far as the OS goes I would recommend Windows 2000 as its lack of eye candy won't slow you down as much and its reliable.

As long as the Dell has a 3d graphics card (such as a cheap NVidia board) you will get reasonable performance from most games as well (CounterStrike and the likes).

Umm, the guy said he didn't play games

I would ho for the cheaper computer. It meets all the needs you won't. Actually, this rather a posting. The two computers are about as far apart as the USA and Iraq. Bit of a strange comparison really.

122944 2003-02-22 08:14:00 Just an update:

Been to the shop clearance..... looks quite good, thinking now

I will (if I do get the computer) also get the 17" dell monitor....

So, $420 now! Worth it, or should I go new?
