2003-02-21 00:01:00 | Just thought it might be interesting to see who is still lurking in this place. There are a lot of posters, but I feel there are a lot of readers as well. Come on.... own up. So just post if you read this.

2003-02-21 01:40:00 | I did not read this and therefore did not post this. | godfather (25) | |
2003-02-21 01:41:00 | I think you might be on a hiding to nowhere there JM. By definition or inclination, readers don't post, so they are unlikely to respond to your request that they reveal themselves. Further, if they post, they are no longer just readers, which renders their post as a reader invalid. But then again, I could be wrong. Cheers Billy 8-{) :D

2003-02-21 01:57:00 | There are tons and tons of readers, far more than posters I would say . Wouldn't it be good if this forum had a counter like on other forums where you could see how many people have read each post as well as the number who have replied . People would then know that their question is not being ignored if they get no replies because no one knows the answer . But yeah, come on you shy readers, 'fess up!! :-)

It's just that there is the odd time you think someone has dropped off the edge of the interweb then suddenly there will be a topic that they know a lot about and they'll post. For instance K O hasn't been around for a while. Orac hadn't been around for quite a bit then there was the thread about alternative ink cartridges. |

2003-02-21 02:21:00 | "lukers" ?? Oh, you mean "lurkers". :D Yes, I know what you mean. Jester is another of the old regulars who only pops in occasionally now. I guess they all drifted away when the forum got boring and are now all just too busy with other things to bother any more. People do have their reasons. Nice to see you pop in for a visit, godfather -- I trust that you are taking good care of yourself. :-)

2003-02-21 02:31:00 | I've been lurking all day, answering posts I can answer, but then there are posts i don't know about or don't interest me, so I lay idle for a while. | roofus (483) | |
2003-02-21 02:42:00 | A long time reader/learner/lurker. Only recently put a toe in the posting water. Would miss my daily fix. Would hope to have something to contribute from time to time. Enjoy the chat from the contributors but occasionaly overwhelmed by the obvious experience displayed. And the number of postings accomplished. Don't fret about old hands moving on/not showing. All clubs/associations suffer from this and most survive.
