122665 2003-02-20 22:18:00 Hi all,
My system got trushed with a virus, did all sorts of weird stuff including changing my ISP dialup password. Don't know what the password was but it was about twice as long as the original password, strange thing is it still work with my ISP account!
Replaced the HDD and setup up with win2k, went through and setup my internet connection.... what do you know but somehow that long password is back! Even if I overwrite and save the password the long version always comes back. Any idea's, has it been writin to the bios??

Thanks Dave

122666 2003-02-20 22:23:00 i'm not to sure with 2k but the "long password" isn't a password. its simply a series of "dots" so people can't guess how long your password is. your real password was never changed which is why your dailup still worked.

BTW posting email addy is just begging for spammers to spam your email account.

122667 2003-02-20 22:57:00 I know I shouldn't have my email shown but how do I change my profile? davelowe@worldnet.co.nz (391)
122668 2003-02-20 23:07:00 Create a whole new profile / user name / log in or contact BruceBuckman or Robo and see if they can change it for you in the background. Gordon. (2217)
