122692 2003-02-20 23:56:00 Is there anyway to add another card to a Pentium 4 board to allow a 5th drive to be installed in the system. Or is it the Win XP that limits the number of drives installed. golliwog (816)
122693 2003-02-21 00:05:00 Yes you can get add in card to do what you want. mikebartnz (21)
122694 2003-02-21 00:20:00 OK so I can get a card. What sort of a card? Are you able to give a basic specification so that I can surf a few sites to compare prices. Thanks so far. golliwog (816)
122695 2003-02-21 00:57:00 I'm a little curious as to why you want five drives in one box. If one is to be a back up of another your best bet would be to get a PCI Raid card as with the Raid card it can be set up to write the same data to two disks at once. You can pick them up new fron about $150 to $1500.
Search on Raid or Hard Disk Controllers.

122696 2003-02-21 01:32:00 OK I have 2 Hard drives, 1 Iomega Zip drive & a fast CD Drive.

I want to drop in CD-WR drive with a much slower read capacity to burn on a slow process of scanned 35mm colour slide material.

My board is a 1.7 Pentium 4 driven set up with 512 MB ram.

The set up was custom built with a video capture & edit Quadro 4 with Vivo & NVidia for VCR capability.
