1330411 2013-02-27 19:51:00 Asus K50IJ Series laptop, Win 7.

This has been happening more and more often. I'll turn the laptop on and I'll get ZERO sound from anything. The only way (that I know of) to fix it is to reboot the laptop.

Because it's hapening more often I'd like to find a way to fix it, or at least get sound going again without rebooting each time.

Any ideas?

1330412 2013-02-27 20:09:00 What BIOS is on it?? It looks like you need 212 for it to support Win7 Speedy Gonzales (78)
1330413 2013-02-28 04:53:00 BIOS is 217 if I've looked that up correctly.

Again it's something that's only recently started happening and getting worse. I've had this laptop for a couple of years.

1330416 2013-03-01 21:15:00 When the sound doesn't work, have a look in the device manager and see if the Audio is showing ( sound, Video and Game controllers). Also go into the Control Panel/ Sound under playback is there anything selected /showing. wainuitech (129)
1330417 2013-03-02 04:13:00 I have the EXACT same laptop model as you, but on the contrary, even if I am not playing any music or games, the soundcard would emit a constant buzz.

It has not reached the point of driving me nuts yet.

Will try that next time sound isn't working.

Thanks to both, hopefully can figure something out to solve this.
