2012-09-30 05:18:00 | A few of my mates have bought new phones off TM. I don't think any of them needed warranty/support. So not sure how things will work out if you run into issues.

2012-09-30 05:51:00 | would you buy it from where you live so you could pick it up, or doesnt really matter? | GameJunkie (72) | |
2012-09-30 05:58:00 | If you're buying new from someone who sells phones on a regular basis it's not any different to buying from an online store. | icow (15313) | |
2012-09-30 08:30:00 | And if the phone is sold as "works on 2degrees only" then it's most likely stolen (the reason being, Telcom and Vodafone have a blocked IMEI list, 2 degrees doesn't share this list). | psycik (12851) | |
2012-09-30 09:53:00 | thanks for the tip psycik | GameJunkie (72) | |
2012-09-30 11:00:00 | Even back in the Vodafone/Telecom days (without 2 Degrees), I got a quite a old phone the IMEI was scrubbed off the phone. But there are ways ... to edit the IMEI no. as I understand. | Nomad (952) | |
2012-09-30 22:08:00 | Indeed you can edit the IMEI, but like spoofing the MAC address on networks you'd want to make sure that you used a broken phones IMEI otherwise you'd get conflicts. You'd also want to avoid being caught. The legal penalties for interfereing with safe radio operation (I think thats what it comes under) are rather severe. The mobile provider will also get rather pissy with you for causing network problems. With buying, I have bought off TM before, all usual buying practices come to play, good feedback no dodgy wording/offers etc etc. I bought my i9100 and Gnex off ebay. Love em.
