1330669 2013-03-01 03:58:00 So is IE crashing itself. Or is it crashing windows with a BSOD?? If whoever has a hotmail addy upload the dmp file/s to Skydrive (https://skydrive.live.com/) Speedy Gonzales (78)

1330671 2013-03-01 04:08:00 k. Well you can either upload the dmp files to Skydrive. Or put teamviewer on this thing. Send the ID and pw it gives you to me in a PM. So I can see what else is installed. Sounds like IE is screwed or something is making it crash. If FF works and everything else does, and it doesnt crash

You could try installing IE 10 on it but it may crash it while its installing. Did someone install KB2670838 the other day?? Its a platform update for IE10 I think. This has caused crashes for some people. Who have laptops (from what Ive seen so far) and it has also crashed on systems (that use / have Intel video cards) where the drivers are out of date

1330672 2013-03-01 04:09:00 every time I reboot HP Support Assistant comes up stating "A restart is needed"
which we have done but it comes back again

1330673 2013-03-01 04:12:00 owner is due to pick up laptop in a few minutes, could we visit this with teamviewer on Monday? NZHawk (4093)
1330674 2013-03-01 04:19:00 Its possible that KB I posted is causing this crash. It's the same stop error some people are getting. Look here. If KB 2670838 is installed uninstall it (answers.microsoft.com)

If this is the reason. MS are aware of it now.

1330677 2013-03-06 21:27:00 Just wanted to report back that it was the KB2670838 that caused the BSOD.
After I uninstalled it IE worked fine!

Thank you
