| 1304182 | 2012-10-01 04:33:00 | Interesting following the age issue in this thread. I suppose the whole thing is quite polarised about the 40's age group. Those of us who've been involved in computers since the 8088 will be in our 40's or older, and will have the widest experience and longest experience on computers. On the other hand, our peers of similar age who did not embrace computers will be among those computer illiterate dinosaurs that find things so difficult to grasp. It's just a question of which way you went when computers were starting to enter the mainstream... in those dreaded DOS years. |

| 1304184 | 2012-10-01 10:55:00 | I was fortunate to work for a large corporate in early 80's who got me started on wordperfect (before MS word), windows 3.1x, Lotus 123 spreadsheets, superbase, edlin editor, ms-dos V5 and numerous dos switches which I use a little today. Also we all got subscibed to the bulky PC mag which I distributed to staff for several years, which included the interesting entertainment "after hours" section. | kahawai chaser (3545) | ||
