| 123275 | 2003-02-22 22:43:00 | I have an old disk that has some "microsoft works 4.5" docs on it but I can't open them on my system cause it is running "Office 2000" , or can I???? | dchip (1426) | ||

There are three types of files on the disk with the extensions: .wdb .wps .wks The thing is I have a elderly lady here who has done a Word Prossesing course that came with a book and a disk. The book is reffering to "Microsoft works 4.5" and the floppy has several sample files for her to practice her WP skills following the examples in the text bk. Problem is here PC has Office 2000 and the disk isn't compatable. |

| 123278 | 2003-02-22 23:57:00 | >wdb is the Works Database >>wps will be the word processor >wks will be the spreadsheet As long as Word 2000 install loaded the converters you should have no problems opening wps files. The same should be so for wks files in Excell but the wdb could be a loss but I doubt at the moment that she will be into databases anyway. |

All formatting is saved . ------------------------------------------------------------ We're supposed to be perfect our first day on the job and then show constant improvement - Ed Vargo, major league baseball umpire |
