123869 2003-02-25 13:34:00 Hi - I have XP Home and Incredimail.

My question is when you create a new email and type the first letter of the email address you get a list to choose from. Now in this list I have email addresses that -
1. I'm not sure how they got there and 2. How do I delete them?

123870 2003-02-25 18:08:00 It can be really annoying. I am pretty sure they appear because you have used them before - in emails sent, not received.
To delete them, when they come up in a box, just scroll to the one you don't want (without clicking on it) and hit the delete key. It should stop appearing.

123871 2003-02-25 18:57:00 YEAHHHHHHHHH!!!! Thank you Robo :D You helped me fix the problem.

Some of the addresses came off an email I was sent, a fwd one. And as you say some were names I had sent emails to.

I had been trying to use the mouse and right click to delete - no good but doing it your way I used the arrow keys and then the delete key.

FIXED - Once again Thank you!!!

In Outlook Express there is an option to add the address of the sender to your Address Book automatically. If there is a similar option in Incredimail that would be how your contacts got there. I do not have Incredimail but you could try looking around in Options for it and disable it if you do not need it.

It drove me nuts so I have never had mine enabled.

123874 2003-02-26 10:07:00 Can anyone with Incredimail tell me how to stop the email addresses going onto my list automatically as susan b has described????

I have had a look but unsure what I should be looking for ?:|

Thanks

123875 2003-02-26 18:19:00 I don't believe there is any option to add to address book automatically but you can disable Autocomplete.
Tools/Options
Click on the Compose Tab
Untick both Autocomplete boxes.

123877 2003-02-26 19:02:00 Hi Ladybug,
Autocomplete is where you just type the first letter or two of an address & it will automatically put in the 'To' box the address it thinks that you want use.
In my case I have a couple of addresses that start with the same letters so as you type the next letter it will then know which one you want to use.

This is very handy. You dont know how to stop addresses getting on there though if you dont want them on - other than deleting them after they have appeared???
