Is it too difficult to explain just what is done and do you literally work the other persons comp. for them?? Never heard of this before. Certainly seems to have helped beetle, and she must be very relieved to have it sorted |

| 123600 | 2003-03-01 07:27:00 | Thank you Iris. :8} Remote Assistance can only be done if each computer is running Win XP. What we did was contact each other via MSN messaging, which has a Remote Assistance button for Beetle to "request help". Win XP did the rest -- Beetle's desktop displayed in a window on my screen and I just did things like I do on my own machine. The only difference was that it was jolly slow due to the internet connection and being on dialup. Beetle could watch my mouse moving around and see what I was doing and there is a box for us to "chat" in for communication so I could explain what I was doing/going to do. Beetle could still operate her computer herself and she had the option of cutting me off at anytime if she felt threatened so I had to behave! :p :D It is pretty amazing what can be done these days, that is for sure. |
