123463 2003-02-24 02:20:00 It just keeps appearing:
eepro100: wait_for_cmd_done timeout!

Ive got an onboard EtherExpress Pro 100 I believe, but why does it start appearing, sometimes it'll keep coming up, other times it'll come up once or twice....

What's it mean and how do I stop it?

Thanks

123464 2003-02-24 04:14:00 Anything in the /var/log/messages or any other log file? Dolby Digital (160)
123465 2003-02-24 09:25:00 yes, but nothing that would appear to lead to the NIC failure or the likes.. Chilling_Silence (9)
123466 2003-02-24 09:42:00 I think I got the same message when my POS soundcard started to die.

Is the NIC still working?

123467 2003-02-24 09:54:00 Err.. Its onboard, and I think so.
It's currently in a Small Form Factor case, and Ive got one ISA port free, so I could try installing an old 10MBPS card if I can find one lying around somewhere.

Any other things it may be?

(BTW - This is totally un-related to my other post - Two different PC's)!

123468 2003-02-25 02:12:00 Well, it means that it has been waiting for a "cmd-done" event. The event hasn't been triggered within the time limit, so it gives a message.
I think that you might have got that far. :D

To get rid of the message, fix the hardware.:D Since it's a network device that means either the cable or the card, or, less likely, the other end of the cable.

123469 2003-02-25 07:37:00 Okay, so the conclusion is that my onboard has died..

Now I just gotta get an ISA NIC coz its a small form factor pc... :-(
