Hi all,
Is it just me or is anyone else being keeped in the dark by TelstraClear..
News is that they are dropping the 128 Kbit cable connections in favour
of 256 Kbit speeds at an extra cost..
I would like to know if anybody knows if the 128Kbit cable connection
speed is going to be maintained ??

Also TelstraClear's billing has gone down the drain and customer support
is non exsitant now. They used to be good but when they cut back their staff and don't communicate with its customers they seem to be heading to be like their Aussie parent company..USELESS

I was a die hard supporter once, but they cut back on cable channels - no Turner classics etc. They don't answer their phones or email and also don't tell their customer what they are up to.

RANT over

124144 2003-02-26 08:16:00 TelstraClear will still resell Telecom's JetStream Starter DSL product, which runs at 128 Kbit/s .

124145 2003-02-26 08:20:00 Hi Jim B
Thanks, But I know, thats were I found out about it .
I am asking because I alredy have a 128 Kbit cable connection with TelstraClear but don't want to pay extra money for a faster connection but only have half the amount of possible traffic..

124147 2003-02-26 10:44:00 Yeah I received news today that they are dropping the 128 service. Didn't keep the article cos it doesn't apply to me, but thats what their doing as it wasn't fast enough to qualify as broadband or something. Danger (287)
124148 2003-02-26 10:59:00 The word I got is that existing customers will remain on 128K & new connections will be 256K.

Cheers Steve

124149 2003-02-26 11:27:00 tried to sign up for 128K cable last month. No go. 128K is now only available thru paradise-telecom jetstart. Which is what I did.

cheers
