In Internet Explorer go to Tools > Options > General > Settings > Delete Cookies and then Delete Files (to delete Temp Internet files). Click OK all the way out.

Change those instructions to Tools > Options > General > Delete Cookies and then Delete Files (to delete Temp Internet files). Click OK all the way out.

124283 2003-03-02 07:53:00 Of course delelting all cookies will mean that when you next go to PF1 you will have to log in, but it will hopefully remember you, and keep your settings as the cookie file rebuilds fresh.

Just checking here.. When you "changed your password" i'm hoping that you didn't also change your user name, as the settings on layout etc are stored against your user name. Change that and the old cookies are garanteed not to be effective

124284 2003-03-02 08:15:00 Hi Caffy

To delete temporary internet files go to Tools/Internet Options and use the "Delete files" . In the box that opens there, also click "delete all off-line content" .

Cookies area bit more problematic to get to quickly, so I suggest that you download and install Spybot . Run this, and besides clearing out any apyware on your computer, it will also delete your temporary internet files and cookies . I don't think it says it will delete cookies, but I know it does because I had to log back in to all my favourite sites after letting it delete those files .

You can also find the cookies folder(s) on your C drive and delete them from there but it sounds like you would be better off using an automated system .

If you want to try, to find the Cookie folders, go to Start/Find/Files or Folders, enter Cookies as the search term and select the C:\ drive to be searched . A few seconds later you will see all the folders displayed . Click on the one with the path C:\windows\profiles\[your name] or similar and all the cookies will be displayed .

If you want to be really cute you can search again within that folder for pressf1 or pcworld and delete the cookie that comes up . Double clicking will open the cookie in Notepad so you can check that it is for the right site before deleting it . You may find more than one by the way so delete them all .

Cheers

124285 2003-03-03 09:34:00 Ah hah

I deleted the temporary internet files, and then opened up a new IE window, went to PF1, signed in, and clicked on Automatically log in.

I was logged in, and then closed the window - opened up a new window and i was automatically logged in :D

so many thanks guys :)
