NT is New Technology to my understanding.

NT4... then there's NT5 (2K), 5.1 (XP), and 5.2 (.NET). However, I think they should have made it NT 6 instead of 5.2 though, as its a whole new league :D

Maybe Microsoft is saving 6.0 for the OS they're releasing after Longhorn (.NET), forgotten what it's codename is, it's some Canadian mountain name, just like Longhorn.

124128 2003-02-27 08:00:00 All Windows versions codenames are supposed to be the names of mountains, I'm sure on of the earlier versions (eg 98, or ME), was named after one of the mountains going down the middle of the USA. agent (30)
