| 123956 | 2003-02-26 00:20:00 | Just recently I have started being disconnected shortly after logging on to the Internet. Error Box is headed "Network Connections" and states Link to Server (Igrin) failed. We then go thru a 60 second reconnection which usually re-connects first time. This is a new problem and seems to follow Telecom installing fibre optic cables outside my home. Before I get the "run-around"when I try to discuss this with my server and/or Telecom can anyone suggest where the likely problem is being created ? I live in Tauranga and have been advised by Telecom that my connection speed of 34.6 is about all I can hope for ? |

It is caused by noise on the phone line, BUT because Telecom does not guarantee Internet standard connections, they can give you a major muck around. In the end I changed modems for an external Dynalink Rural. No more problems, by the way, mine was actually caused by water on the wires, Telecom admited this much to me. But as I said, they only guarantee a phone connection. |
