124652 2003-02-28 02:44:00 i made several CDs using DirectCD (came with easy CD creator) on my win98 machine. they always worked fine. then i upgraded to xp and nero 5.5.9.16. when i load a disk, a window pops up asking what i want to do with my blank disk. of course, it's not blank.

it seems that after i run nero drive speed, i can see the contents of my disk. why is that?

do i need to change a setting or download anything so i can use my older disks without any problems?

thanks for the help.

Does Win XP actually say the disk is blank? I get that window popping up too, but I just click Cancel, navigate to Explorer and access the CD's contents from there . Can you not do that?

124654 2003-02-28 04:11:00 Multisession CD RW disks can be read as either unformated or not recognised.

Close the session

i read throu g h the info at the nero site and didn't find anythin g that would solve my problem .

i have a copy of roxio easy cd creator 5 . i installed it and everythin g works fine .

i'm dual bootin g xp and 98se . 98se has no burnin g software loaded and reads the cds fine . nero must be my problem . i'm just not sure why .

124659 2003-03-03 01:37:00 Glenn, I have the same problem, but I am running Win2K. I also upgraded to Nero after using DirectCD. I think its something to do with InCD. I was never able to get any advice that made sense, but its definitely a software problem. I have kind of given up on CDRWs for the time being, so hope someone can help. Tane (1252)
124660 2003-03-03 01:41:00 Glenn, when you use ECDC5 does the problem go away, ie are you able to use CDRWs again? If so I might look into that as a solution. Tane (1252)
124661 2003-03-03 07:31:00 hi tane

i should have written "CD-Rs" and not "CD-RWs . " i've only used CD-Rs . as soon as i installed easy cd creator 5 platinum AND updates from the Roxio website, i was able to read all my CD-Rs .

when i burned the cds usin g directCD, i labeled the disks . nero could read them . easy cd did .

i know you can find the pro g ram on kazaa if you want to try before you buy .

g ood luck!
