| 124578 | 2003-02-27 20:55:00 | An e-mail came with a .txt attacment, which I saved to the desktop, the name was ATT1.TXT and had a web-site : home.attbi.com for a house with a ghost which pops up screaming. Have tried all ways to delete the ATT1.TXT file off the Desktop, but access is denied, there is not enough disk space or it is a read only file. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Les3 Ps. sending it to floppy, it can be deleted off this medium okay. L |

If you try to delete a file and it is read only you usually get a dialog box asking you if you want to delete the read only file so if the file isn't open do a reboot and try again and if that doesn't work reboot into dos mode and delete it from there. | mikebartnz (21) | ||
| 124580 | 2003-02-27 21:47:00 | Mikebartnz, thanks for your reply, the file had created a file named ~$ATT1.TXT. Deleted this and the ATT1.TXT was able to be deleted also. Is this what is called "snail track", what does the tildy and $ signs means ?. Thanks, Les3 |
