124989 2003-03-02 04:39:00 You know that when you empty Outlook express "Deleted Items" folder,
the items are permanently deleted....
Guess what..
If you search for "deleted Items" ... ie. Start , find...

The file is still there and it is the same size...

Does anyone know how to reactivate those messages ??

Trying to open the "deleted Items.dbx" file with access doesn't work..
The system mentions a "Jet" database

124990 2003-03-02 05:05:00 Are you wanting to rescue the messages in the Deleted Items folder or are you wanting to know how to permanently delete them so no one else can retrieve them?

If you are wanting to retrieve them yourself you will have to obtain a program called DBXtract from here (www.oehelp.com). I have not tried it on the Deleted Items folder myself so I cannot say if it will work or not.

If you are wanting to permanently delete the messages in the Deleted Items folder you will have to compact that folder from Outlook Express.
