| 124832 | 2003-03-01 06:46:00 | Those NAV users who use Symantec's "Intelligent Updater"to get their virus definitions on a daily basis should have a look at this article below that i found on another forum! You may be wasting your time? The daily updates are of little or no value to most users. They are essentially "housekeeping" updates that patch problems reported by some users that have had the earlier updates cause conflicts to oddball hardware and software combinations, the removal of obsolete virus signatures, the addition of new names for older virus definitions that still will work but identify the virus by the wrong name, etc. Any new varient discovered will trigger an immediate Live Update at any time necessary. We have even seen two new Live Updates in the same day. These minor daily fixes are incorporated into the Live Updates so you miss nothing. You are fully protected if you only use the Live Updates.
