125399 2003-03-04 01:24:00 Some time ago I attended a Photoshop conference and came away with a CD of tutorials.

Today, (on three different computers), I tried to access the tut's but on every occasion Windows Media Player opened with the error message "the file format is invalid".

I'm not sure, but I think the tutorials are in the *.mov format, is it just possible that Win Med Player does not support .mov files?

If this is the case what proggie should I be using?

125400 2003-03-04 01:45:00 You need to get a copy of Quicktime.

Get it from the PC World mag CD!

Or download from http://www.quicktime.com

Yeah I already have Quicktime V6 however win med player seems to want to open on selection of the tutorial to run and there does not seem to be any way to force Quicktime to open instead.

Right clicking on the file shows the option to OPEN only and no OPEN WITH. Pre opening Quicktime does not help either.

Windows ME, 512 RAM.

Any further thoughts?

125402 2003-03-04 02:09:00 Open QT6, and in the tasbar will be the systray icon for it, right click that and hit preferences.

Play around in there, and get it to be associated with MAC types, like .MOV etc :-)

That should fix your problem :-)

Cheers

Try holding down Shift while right clicking on the file in Windows Explorer.
