| 125286 | 2003-03-03 20:45:00 | After diabling system rstore in win ME and the re-nabling it to remove the KLEZ viru, it will now not work. It comes up with a message to the ffect that system restore was unable to restore my settings. What can I do to get it working again??? | timmora2 (3280) | ||
| 125287 | 2003-03-03 23:21:00 | try this link www.symantec.com |

| 125288 | 2003-03-04 00:01:00 | I never use system restore. It is so worthless. Everytime I went to do a restore it would always fail so I gave up on it. GoBack from Roxio works really really well. www.roxio.com I believe they have a trial version available and if you really like it you can buy it, or use kazaa. |

| 125289 | 2003-03-04 00:42:00 | timmora, did you enable system restore and expect it to restore your computer to a time before you caught that virus? Cos it won't work like that because it was disabled. You will need to leave it running for about 12 hours before it will reset any restore points, so trying to take your computer back to a time before the virus came along is a waste of time. I suggest you leave it enabled, as it has saved my computer many times. | Danger (287) | ||
| 125290 | 2003-03-04 04:26:00 | Just to expand on what Danger said - by disabling your System Restore, you permanently delete all previous restore points, there is no going back. When you re-enable System Restore, you can manually create a fresh new restore point, and then let the program automatically create further restore points as required. Running an Antiviral program, which is regularly updated, is the best way to avoid future viral infections. |

The last thing I would say about it is "worthless" Why buy GoBack when SR (which does the same thing) comes freee with ME > > www.roxio.com > > I believe they have a trial version available and if > you really like it you can buy it, or use kazaa. How do you mean "use Kazaa" |

PoWa - Wrong forum to be suggesting downloading anything illegal from Kazaa. Lo. |

| 125294 | 2003-03-04 07:16:00 | Well i'm not gonna try solve your problem, cause i believe others already have. However i will bring it to your attention that when you have a virus in your system restore folder (that is files with a .cpy extension) they can not get out, they are locked in and can't do anything, GIven that your virus prog picked up that you had the virus in your system restore folder, you would now know to leave the system restore to purge itself, which it would do in a day or two. |
