| 125658 | 2003-03-05 04:53:00 | Hi, I've got a system to hard disks and I want to get the best performance I can. I've got 4 ide connectors - 2 are onboard RAID, but should function as extra drives. I was wondering performance wise, if it would be worth my while having the 2 hard disks running off the raid ide cons, and a cd writter and cd running from the standard ide connectors? I'm rebuilding the system after it fell over last night, and thought this would be the best time to sort things out. Also, I was going to buy and extra hard disk and have mirroring on on the hard disk containing the data - does the disk go on the same cable, or the cable beside it? Or are these decided some where else? thanks N |
