125653 2003-03-05 02:28:00 When I use the recording console in the Nero 5.5 wave edit it freezes up randomly. Error message "Wave Edit has caused an error in Kernel32 dll. Wave edit will now close". Can anyone please advise what action I can take to rectify this. Operating system Windows ME. noel s. (3292)
125654 2003-03-05 04:09:00 The following conditions can cause Kernel32.dll error messages:

Damaged swap file
File allocation damage
Damaged password list
Damaged or incorrect version of the Kernel32.dll file
Damaged registry
Hardware, hot CPU, over clocking, broken power supply, RF noise, ground bounce, or bad hard disk controller
BIOS settings for Wait states, RAM timing, or other BIOS settings
Third-party software that is damaged or incorrectly installed
.dll files that are saved to the desktop
Non-existent or broken Temp folder
A control panel (.cpl) file is damaged
Incorrect or damaged hardware driver
Incorrectly installed printer drivers or HP Jetadmin drivers
Damaged Java Machine
Damaged .log files
Damaged entries in the History folder
Incompatible or damaged dynamic link library files
Viruses
Damaged or incorrect Msinfo32.exe file
Low disk space
Other problems that depend on the Kernel file

the above was listed at Microsofts website! and as you can see it can be caused by lots of things.

you may just have to check that the drivers for your drive are installed properly and up to date and nero is up to date as well. Also try exiting other programs you may have running ( just to be sure ) and try runnig nero again.

lastly ( as microsoft suggests ) you might just have to reinstall windows etc ( so I hope you backed up right? ) and cross your fingers!

125655 2003-03-06 02:25:00 Thankyou for your reply. You are probably correct will have to reinstal windows, but would like to postpone th ultimate act. Is it possible to reinstal ME over itself & retain files and associations as was done for Win95 noel s. (3292)
125656 2003-03-06 02:42:00 Have you just downloaded a new version of Nero? If so, have a look here (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz). Susan B (19)
