125638 2003-04-26 23:02:00 I thought I'd re-kindle this post as no-one replyed!

so, any ideas yet or reg hack maybe anyone?

I'm using 1stjump (www.imagespro.com) (shareware $18) at the mo to get around more easily, but the left hand pane would be much easier!

125639 2003-04-27 00:42:00 Trev - you need to elaborate... left pane of what? I have no idea what you're talking about here :) so perhaps that's why nobody has replied. Are you meaning Left pane of the start menu? Of Windows Explorer? Or of something else altogether?

125640 2003-04-27 00:50:00 I think Trev means the File and Folder Tasks section found in the in the left pane when viewing folders. Under that section there are options to "publish this folder to the web" and other not so useful tasks. Jen C (20)
125641 2003-04-27 01:46:00 yes, sorry, the left hand pane in explorer (it's big, blue and virtually useless!) I don't know what it's called, but has File and Folder Tasks on top, other places in the middle and details at the bottom.
in pictures it has picture tasks at the top and other system files have different tasks at the top...

any ideas as it'd be great if it had some decent functions (as in one's that I'd use)?

thanks Trev

125642 2003-04-27 02:08:00 Oh that pane :) Okay...

I don't use it - it's always turned off... I have Folder pane open all the time, so when I open explorer all I see are folders etc. - When the other panes are on (Search, Folders, etc.) the task pane disappears.

125643 2003-04-27 02:38:00 I had the folder tree for a while, but it's a pain using it, y'know click click, click to get anywhere
so that 1st jump prog is great!

It'd be better if I could have exactly what I wanted there..
details is fine, a few other places to go to- ditching my comp, network places and shared folder and ditching most of the folder tasks!

same here Mike. First thing I do on any install is change it to default with folder view.
