| 125566 | 2003-03-04 11:08:00 | I have just installed Win 98 SE on a recycled computer (Dell P3 533) and it installed a VGA adapter which only allows 16 colours. How do I install an svga adapter? | bpt1 (419) | ||
| 125567 | 2003-03-04 11:30:00 | I think you are talking about video graphics card. you need to know what type of video graphics card you have. ie: gforce4, TNT-2 M64 ,MATROX G550 Millennium ,ATI Radeon then you can go and download the drives for your video graphics card. let me know if you have the right drive but can't install them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SVGA Super Video Graphics Array (S-V-G-A) An extension to VGA that, at first, referred to 800x600 pixel displays but has been expanded to include 1024x768 (and higher) pixel displays. |

| 125569 | 2003-03-04 11:50:00 | Two options to determine the graphics adapter. 1) Click "Start" "Settings" "Control Panel" then select "System" "Device Manager" and choose "Display Adapter" This will show you what the adapter is. or 2) Click "Start" "Programs" "Accessories" "System Tools" "System Information" then choose "Components" "Display" and this will also show the graphics adapter. Armed with this info you can see if there is a newer driver. The other option is to check on the Windows Update site to see if there are any new drivers. |

| 125571 | 2003-03-04 19:01:00 | Windows 98SE would predate a P3 533Mhz, so it probably just chose VGA as default, as said you need to determine which video adapter you have. | Terry Porritt (14) | ||
