| 126072 | 2003-03-06 19:59:00 | Hi all. Got a distressed phone call from my mother last night who has started to get some very sick mail in her inbox (like the rest of us have been getting for years). Not sure how she has avoided it for so long but I am picking it will only increase in volume. After holding for 45min, the ClearNet 'tech' on the phone suggested that she mail the person back saying that she did not wish to receive such mail in the future. Sound advice I'm not so sure! Can anyone please recommend a good (read simple) mail filtering program? I would rather something that can filter at the POP server before even downloading the mail. (She is a teacher and would prefer not to have any offensive material on her machine). I remember seeing some good apps a while ago (one from a NZer??) so if you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it...and so would mum! Thanks in advance! Matt |

| 126076 | 2003-03-06 23:05:00 | Hi Matt From a fan of Mailwasher - who did not want to create a new identity. If your Mom is going to use it, check out the various settings with her. Go to Tools/Options/Blacklist & Friends List. Under the Blacklist window click on Options and the Auto-delete. This will eliminate at the server level all incoming messages which she will have previously blacklisted or which meet the blacklist criteria in the program - without displaying them to her. Anything new and about which she has doubts can be right clicked for a preview without downloading it. Scouse |
