125898 2003-03-06 01:59:00 Hey there,

PC is running Windows 2000 SP3. Everything is running fine.
The only problem is that when I go to install anything that uses the InstallShield program I get the error:

An error occurred while launching the setup.
Class not registered.

After following instructions on Installshields website on how to fix this error it is still happening!

Any ideas before I go and reinstall Windows?

125899 2003-03-06 02:14:00 Boot of the Win2K CD and tell it to Repair - Not install, and see if that helps :-) Chilling_Silence (9)
125900 2003-03-06 02:39:00 Didn't even think of that before! But it has made no difference. CYaBro (73)
125901 2003-03-06 04:21:00 Just reloaded Windows 2000 over the top of old copy and has made no difference! :(

Looks like it might be the big format and start from scratch unless someone can come up with anything else by tomorrow morning.

125902 2003-03-06 06:29:00 have you seen this (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz)?

I'm experencing the same problem but with Windows XP Pro, I suggest you download the file said *follow the link* in the post. Anyone know a answer to my problem?

Yours should be a easy fit just by reinstalling the Windows Installer...

125903 2003-03-06 06:44:00 The only problem is it is not the windows installer but InstallSheild. mikebartnz (21)
125904 2003-03-06 20:53:00 Spent about an hour last night going through the registry and checking all entries as InstallShield help suggested. All were OK except a couple but even after repairing these still have the same problem X-( so doing a reinstall of Win2k now. CYaBro (73)
125905 2003-03-07 02:09:00 Just for anyone who's interested, did a format and reinstall of Win2k and guess what? It works! :) CYaBro (73)
