125769 2003-03-05 09:47:00 The novelty of problem solving this one wore off a fortnight ago. The purchase of Fifa 2003 has highlighted a problem: direct 3d isn't working.

First off, some specs:
P3 667
Win98
NVIDIA TNT2 M64 (32 mb)

And this is the error message that I get when testing direct3d under dxdiag:

Direct3D 7 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x887602eb (error code)
Direct3D 8 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8007000e (Out of memory)
Direct3D 9 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8007000e (Out of memory)

And maybe something of note: under the dxdiag display page, it claims that my card has approx. 3mb of memory.

So far I have tried Directx 8.1, 8.1a and 9; Detonator Drivers 28.32, 30.82 and 41.09 and all the combinations that involves. I have also checked that hardware accelleration bar is at full under advanced driver properties and I've tried lowering the PCI memory to 2mb (as suggested by a few people on other forums).

As I said, the novelty on this one is wearing out - especially after a couple of weeks searching nvidia, guru3d, directx and ea support tech support forums.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank You
