| 126293 | 2003-03-07 06:47:00 | I have the following system: AMD Athlon XP 2200+ (1.8 GHz) Soltek SL-75DRV5 Mobo 512 MB DDR333 RAM 40GB + 20GB HDz - both 7200 RPMs Leadtek Winfast Geforce4 Ti4200 Video Card with 128MB DDR Sound Blaster Live! DE 5.1 52x CDRom, 48x40x12 Burner Admit it - that's not bad :) My problem is this: No matter what I'm doing, it runs slow. I'm dual booting XP Pro and ME, and both OS'es are slow as **** - especially when doing stuff which actually REQUIRES that performance, such as 3D gaming. I recently bought MS Combat Flight Sim 3 which is jittery as hell - even with mediocre graphics settings. Can anybody help me? Some info on how to fine-tune my card to get the best out of it would be greatly appreciated :) |

What are your virtual memmory settings 5. Have you updated your videocard drivers 6. Can you ascertain that your videocard is runing at 4x? 7. Have you updated your sound drivers? |

Download sisoft sandra its a benchmark util, its very good, tell us how you go in the comparison of your computer to another one with similar specs. then we can address the individual issues |
