| 126563 | 2003-03-08 05:21:00 | I was using this wizard and upon completion this message appeared on my screen. Tapisrv caused an invalid page fault in module GDI.EXE at 0001:0000722c and press any key to continue THEN another this message appeared MSGSRV32 caused a general protection fault in module GDI.EXE at 0001.00007574. I exited this programme and everything seems to be working fine. What did this mean? Need I do anything about those messages. I operate Windows 98 SE. Thank you |

I too have Norton's on Win98 (but not 98SE), and from reading various comments here and elsewhere, it is a fact that Norton's (any product of their's) can really stuff up a system in spite of working superbly when the system is stable . All I can suggest is that you try entering the error message, or parts of it, into Google search engine . If nothing comes up, go to the microsoft web site and then to their technical help section . The only other suggestion is to be sure that no other programs are running in the background (check using Ctl Alt Del) when you use Norton's . Let us know what you find, OK? Cheers - Steve_L |

| 126565 | 2003-03-09 03:42:00 | Tapisrv is a telephony thing. GDI is a 16bit Resource holder MSGSRV32 is the message (error) delivery prog in windows. Its a domino effect, in that both errors occur in the GDI. My guess is that something happens with Tapisrv and corupts the GDI causing your next problem with MSGSRV32 You could have a look in the options for the optimisation wizard to see if it tries to dial-up your modem to look for updates or something along those lines, if you do find anything just disable it. |
