126508 2003-03-08 03:55:00 Hi beetle.

What brand and model moitor do you have, what is your video card/adapter, what OS, assuming MS what are the settings in you Display Properties > Settings and Advanced tabs? Have you loaded any new drivers or programs lately?

Not sure if I can help you but, others who can will need this info.

126510 2003-03-08 04:04:00 You need to tell us what your OS is beetle, and what sort of information it is that you can't see (and yes, I know that is an oxymoron, but only you know what you were expecting to see).

To change the desktop background colour, right click anywhere on the desktop, select Properties then Appearance & choose what you want, or go play in Control Panel.

If you are talking about the normal screen for WP etc, of course that will always be some shade of grey. but I sense that this is not what you are on about.

There are also Windows' built in Help files accessible from the Start Button. Why not a have a browse there, most people don't seem to know that they exist ?:|

Brain Dead :_|

If you choose None for your desktop Wallpaper, Appearance is where you go to change the background colour.

Time for bed. :(

126513 2003-03-08 04:26:00 lost myself it seems my screen is to big to fit the monitor.....
i lose my stuff off the page,

pc company monitor, had it since october so its reasonably new (i dont beleive that word any more after reading pF1 threads)
dont no vid card thing or much else.

ok i looked at that OS thing i have XP remeber?
does not have a Background thing but it does have appearance, and i set it back on XP, windows. but when first turned on ok then i remember to check and the new page has opened grey, havent moved puter, or added anything, the only thing i have altered is the letter size ..er.... fonts? to make one size bigger.
brightness is at 100% and contrast is 100% that is the only time when checking that it goes back to brite white. and colour does not seem to change when day or nite.
i just forget and keep using it till makes it hard to look at. and my eyes are saw.
all windows that open seem to be affected looks bad on outlook express to, all things seem a not good grey colour,
i had played with settings for boxes and window edges but put it back to the original settings XP

a hammer would be really nice about now!

cant remember what else you said,
next time

126515 2003-03-08 04:37:00 Hi Beetle

Right click empty space in your desktop. Go to Properties > Settings > Advanced. Do you have a tab for Colour Correction? What other tabs are there? Also have a look at the monitor tab, does it have a fascility to adjust your monitors horizontal and verticle size, parralell, etc, or can you access by pressing a button on your monitor?

Whats your display adapter? Some have utilities for adjusting colour and screen position.

126516 2003-03-08 04:53:00 what and where is diplay adaptor?
i found box display properties.
cant find a colour correction tab. other things in this box are,
themes,
desktop,
screen saver,
appearance
and settings,
does refresh rate have anything to do with what the screen looks like, came across that setting when searching, 60 hertz ?

screen resolution is 1024 by 768 pixels ? what is a pixel? sounds like a nut, er pretzels anyone.

lol
