| 1331469 | 2013-03-06 00:01:00 | Model RTA1025W. Seems to be dropping the wireless signal to my laptop and smart-phones. Sometimes will allow me to log-on but then drops the signal. My smartphone has an App (Wi-Fi Analyser) which shows signal strength. It shows a fluctuation from almost off the scale to zero. The modem is running my Desktop machine perfectly, it is the wireless facility that is causing trouble. It appears to me that the modem is on the way out but I thought I'd check in case there was some sort of check/adjustment I could do first. |

| 1331470 | 2013-03-06 23:50:00 | It's on the way out. Those modems weren't that good to start out with. Buy one of these to replace it. www.pbtech.co.nz www.pbtech.co.nz |

| 1331472 | 2013-03-07 19:57:00 | Thanks for that ... answered my next question as to what to replace it with, the options seem to be a bit of a "mine-field" if you're not technically into this aspect. |

| 1331473 | 2013-03-07 20:29:00 | Indeed. Unfortunately there are probably 10x as many "bad" routers as there are "good" routers. For a lot of us here it was honestly an expensive exercise in trial and error. Glad we could help :) | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||
