1306040 2012-10-09 04:56:00 I'm off to KeriKeri for a (old) boys weekend at the end of October, and I'm thinking of extending my journey back by a few days and doing a follow-my-nose tour round the north. Has anyone suggestions for perhaps less well-known/less visited places I might like to see? Tony (4941)
1306041 2012-10-09 05:18:00 What kind of things are you thinking? Walks?

This one is well worth it:

1306042 2012-10-09 08:06:00 There are a couple of scenic walks in the BOI if you like that sort of stuff Whenu (9358)
1306043 2012-10-09 08:50:00 Well, walking from the car to the scenic lookout and from the car to the pub maybe... Tony (4941)
1306044 2012-10-09 21:32:00 There's a micro brewery that does a great ale and lager, right near a roundabout on lower Dent St in Whangarei.

Be worth taking some flaggons home in my opinion. $10 if you BYO empties, or $12 into a new flaggon.

Very easy to drink.

They do a dark beer as well, but I find that a bit more rough.

1306045 2012-10-09 22:24:00 I think that will definitely go on the list. Tony (4941)
1306046 2012-10-09 22:47:00 Beer on the list? Not initially; the list normally comes after the beer. ;) R2x1 (4628)
